Secretary Rice: Six parties will resume talks on North Korean nuclear program Dec. 8 in China

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says new talks on North Korea's nuclear program will begin Dec. 8 in China.

Rice made the announcement Sunday aboard Air Force One as she and President George Bush flew home from a 21-nation economic summit in Peru.

The secretary of state says the next meeting will try to get agreement on verification of North Korea's nuclear disarmament.

Rice would not predict whether a deal would be reached.

As she put it: "The North Koreans took 30 years to get a nuclear weapons program, I think that it might take more than a couple to unravel it."

At the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, Bush won agreement from Russia, China, Japan and South Korea to resume talks with the U.S. and North Korea.
